Wireless Networks
For convenience or for the sake of mobility, you may choose to install a wireless network. Current networks can be replaced by or expanded into wireless networks as well. A wireless network is simply communication between devices without network cabling or cords. You can, however, have a network that is both wired and wireless. This sometimes happens when a business decides to expand their network by choosing to use wireless technology for the expanded portion of the network.
How Wireless Works
Typically, a wireless network will have an access point, which is a two-way transciever for the surrounding environment. An access point serves to allow individual work stations to communicate with a server, a network printer, or many other types of devices on the network, provided that those devices have wireless capabilities.
